Question:

Is it possible to wire multiple safety switches in series to the e-stop/safety gate safety relay inputs?

Answer

In the cases where the safety input circuit forms a loop (terminal S11 - S12 and S21 - S22), the total voltage drop in that circuit should not exceed 2 Vdc, which at 30mA sensing current, allows for 60 ohms maximum resistance.

Also, there may be repercussions to the Safety Integrity Level of the overall system that would fall under the customer's responsibility to determine.

Question:

Can more than one relay extension module LG5929-60-100-61 be installed in the safety circuit to add additional master E-Stop/Gate safety relay contacts if needed?

Answer

Yes, additional extension modules would be connected with the control inputs A1 and A3 in parallel. A2 and A4 would all be wired to neutral or common. Extension module "health" contact at Y1 and Y2 would all be wired in series with the start circuit of the master (ie. LG5925 terminals S33 and S34). Please see following diagram:

Question:

Can I wire a Contrinex light curtain to a standard 24VDC relay or PLC input?

Answer

No, the OSSD outputs are a DC square wave which does not have the proper voltage to reliably energize the circuit. The OSSD outputs need to be wired to a Light Curtain Safety Relay to be used correctly.
