DL305 - TI305/GE Series1 Frequently Asked Questions
Question
Can I convert my old VPU or LAD files for Siemens or GE Fanuc CPUs to DirectSoft?
Answer
In many instances yes.
For TiSoft/Seimens VPU file:
1) Import the VPU file (TI305 program). File --> Import --> Program...
2) Select Tisoft (*.vpu) as the Files of type:
3) Click on VPU file and click the Open button.
4) Change the PLC to DL340. PLC --> Offline Setup...
5) Select the PLC Type as 340 and press the OK button.
For Logicmaster LAD files for Series One PLUS(i.e. CPU 105, 106):
1) Import the LAD file (Series One Plus program). File --> Import --> Program...
2) Select LogicMaster(*.lad) as the Files of type:
3) Click on LAD file and click the Open button.
4) Change the PLC to DL340. PLC --> Offline Setup...
5) Select the PLC Type as 340 and press the OK button
DirectSOFT does not support the Series One CPUs; only the Series One Plus. A possible solution here is:
(a) Open the ladder program with the GE LogicMaster Programming software.
(b) Change the CPU type to 105 or 106.
(c) Resave the file. Since the difference between Series One and Series One Plus is memory, this shouldn't alter the program.
(d) Try the Import function again in DirectSOFT.
