What is the difference between a "semi-automatic" drain and an "automatic" drain.
Answer
The semi-automatic drain empties when pressure is relieved from the system (at night during shutdown, for example). A small spring seal is pushed down by pressure, and is released when the pressure falls to near zero.An automatic drain has a float, that will drain when the liquid level rises enough to trip it.
