Question
Conversion notes for Think & Do Version 8.x
Answer
Current Think & Do Version 8.x Project Conversion notes. (From the Think & Do Readme.txt file)
The conversion of existing Studio projects (version 7.x) to Think & Do is supported, but with the following limitations/restrictions:
- Requires Visio 2002 to be installed on the system.
- For each user, Visio's macro security level must be set to low. This is automatically done for the one who installs Think & Do, but can also be done by running the "Disable Visio Security" shortcut from the Start Menu's "Phoenix ContactThink & DoMisc" folder.
- All of the logical connections between blocks will be converted, but only the basic set of physical connections will be drawn.
- Live! Capture blocks are unavailable in Think & Do and will therefore be replaced with a Call block as a placeholder.
- The Visio-based HMI screens are skipped/ignored.
Before this conversion though, it is recommended that you do the following to better prepare the Studio project:
- Go to the project folder and delete its "Intermediate"
subdirectory.
- From Studio's ProjectCenter, open the project and choose "Project | Rebuild All" to ensure it is fully up-to-date.
The conversion of existing Live! projects (version 5.x) to Think & Do is also supported, but with the following limitations/restrictions:
- Live! Capture blocks are unavailable in Think & Do and will therefore be replaced with a Call block as a placeholder.
- The HMI screens are skipped/ignored.
