Question

Can I create an exception for Dataworx in my Windows firewall?

Answer

Yes!

    Open the Windows Firewall
  • Hold the Windows Key and press the R key
  • Enter firewall.cpl and press enter
  • Select Exceptions tab
  • Select Add Port
  • Enter Dataworx as the name and 30583 (502 for P3000) as Port Number
  • Select TCP and OK
  • Select Add Program
  • Browse and select the DataWorxPLCServer.exe
  • Browse and select the DataWorxPLCMonitor.exe
  • Open the Dataworx Server Window
  • Stop the Dataworx Server by clicking on the Red Stop button.
  • Restart the DataWorx Server by clicking on the Green Arrow Start/Continue Button
  • Close the Dataworx Server Window



      This is for the Windows Firewall, other firewalls may be similar. The key item is the port (30583 for DirectLogic PLCs or 502 for P3000 PACs) must be excepted.
