Can I configure a DL05 to do high speed counting and generate high speed pulse output?

Answer

You can do High Speed Inputs or High Speed outputs, but not both.
1. Mode 10 allows you to configure one high speed counter, up to 5 KHz.
2. Mode 20 allows you to configure one quadrature counter, which allows counting in clockwise and counter clockwise directions (count up or count down), up to 5 KHz.
3. Mode 30 allows you to do high speed pulse outputs up to 7 KHz. It supports three profiles: trapezoidal, registration and velocity.

Only one of these options for the built in HSIO can be used at a time. More details are in Appendix E of the DL05 User Manual
