What is a vortex cooler, and what does it do?
It is a device that uses compressed air as a means of enclosure cooling when other methods are impractical or impossible.
The principal behind the operation is complex. The compressed air enters the generator section of the vortex tube and forces the air to spin around the inside of the tube at around 1M rpm towards the hot air control valve. Some of this air moves to the atmosphere via the hot air release valve (preset at the factory.) The remaining balance of air moves into the middle of the vortex where the speed is less and it is given time to release built up heat.
Basically, the high velocity air picks up the heat and is expelled, where the low velocity cool air gets fed back into the enclosure.

I have an IP65 enclosure, what NEMA equivalent does ADC carry?
To answer this question, we must first look at IEC Publication 60529. It provides for a system for specifying the enclosures of electrical equipment based on degree of protection provided by the enclosure. It does not specify degrees of protection against mechanical damage of equipment, risk of explosions, or conditions such as moisture, corrosive vapors, fungus, or vermin.
The difference in testing makes NEMA and IEC not identical. The user must be informed that a comparison can be made but the liability of the choice rests with them.
NEMA 1 = IP20
NEMA 4X = IP65
NEMA 12 = IP52
