Question: How can I override inputs and outputs in my DL305?
Answer: The DL305 does not support override. With the D3-350, you can turn bits on or off with Data View for a single scan to trigger events, but the PLC will update the image register on the next scan. The inputs will reflect their actual state and the outputs will be the result of the rung that controls them. You can control outputs by loading a program that consists of an END statement only. From DEBUG>DATA VIEW>NEW/OPEN you can then select the particular bit and use the on/off button to control the element. You can not control inputs. With the D3-330 and the D3-340 you can perform the same functions, but since both processors use DirectNet protocol you cannot write individual bits. You must write a register value with the bit pattern you need. For example, to set bit 4 in slot 3, you would write decimal 16 to RIO30.

Question: Do you offer a 24 VDC current sinking input module for the DL305?
Answer: Yes, you can use either the D3-08NE3 AC/DC Input module, the D3-16NE3 AC/DC Input module or the F3-16ND3F DC Fast Response Input module.

Question: I am using a 305 system with a LIC and a RIC. Are they compatible with the new "-1" bases?
Answer: No. You will damage the CPU and possibly other system components if you use the LIC or RIC in a "-1" base. You should consider upgrading your system to a 350 CPU and using 205 or 405 remote I/O.

Question: How often should I change the backup battery?
Answer: All of the units have an indicator that flashes when the battery is getting low. The typical life of the battery in these units is 5 years, but the battery should be checked every six months.

Question: Does the DL305 series support DNP 3.0 protocol?
Answer: At this time, it does not.

Question: How would we check this PLC to make sure that it is calibrated?
Answer: Our PLCs do not require calibration.

Question: Does the DL305 series support fiber optic connections?
Answer: The DL305 series does not support fiber optic modules. There are converters on the market such as "Dymec" They make a fiber to 232 converter. The DL-205 and DL-405 are the only units that support the fiber optic Ethernet modules (H2-ECOM)

Question: Do you offer precision resistors?
Answer: At this time we do not.

Question: Are the DL305 bases class1 div2 Canadian rated?
Answer: Yes, the standard to reference is UL 1604, which is equivalent to CSA-213. So the CUL mark on the DL305 is recognized by CSA

Question: I forgot my password, what are my options?
Answer: Once you have contacted Tech Support, someone will request that you send in your CPU to his or her attention. Always remember to save your program in your software before sending in. The program inside the CPU will be lost and irretrievable.

Question: Are the fuses replaceable on the D3-08TA-2?
Answer: These fuses are non-replaceable.
FAQ ID: 662

Question: Can I buy the DL305 base power supply separate?
Answer: No, it comes installed on the base.
FAQ ID: 703

Question: Does the D3-232-DCU work with the IC610CPU101 CPU?
Answer: Yes it can be used to communicate to the CPU with the older software programs, like Ti-soft or Logicmaster
FAQ ID: 902

Question: What is the SCCR rating for the DL305 PLCs?
Answer: Our PLCs are not power circuit components. The SCCR is not required for them. Please refer to UL508 177.1 and UL508A SB4.1 for details. UL508 177.1 defines what the PLC is and UL508A SB4.1 covers the standard for the SCCR.
