Question: Is there a way to update the time and date on the touch screen to match the CPU clock of the PLC every time I power cycle the touch screen? I understand that the touch screen does not have a battery backed up clock.
Answer: Yes, this can easily be accomplished by placing an (External Clock part and an External Calendar part) - preferably ones with digital type displays. On the Global screen and under Access choose Closed and Selectable. Once this is done all the parts in the touch screen that pertain to date and time will now contain a time that matches the CPU clock (ie. warning displays that display a date and time).

Question: How do I export / import a ScreenCreator project from one computer to another?
Answer: Backing Up:
  1. Open the project you want to export to the other computer.
  2. If any changes have been made to the project make sure you choose Project: Download\Build, BUILD - this saves and compiles any changes to the project.
  3. Now choose Project, BACKUP. Choose SELECT (this is where you can specify the folder you want the project to be backed up to) and choose OK .
  4. Choose OK on the Backup Project window. (Now all the files that are necessary to copy the project to another computer is in one Folder).
At this time you can take the files and Zip them up using WINZIP or some other zip utility and easily e-mail theses files to another person. It is much easier to e-mail one ZIP file than several individual files. Also, the projects are usually very small and will easily fit onto a floppy 1.4MB disk. Restoring
  1. Choose Project, RESTORE. Now in the Restore Project window choose SELECT (now point the software to look at the location to which the project was backed up). Choose OK.
  2. Now choose Project, Open and your project will be in the Project list. If the project is not listed, repeat the above steps.
